Cannabis could be used to treat obesity

Company GW Pharmaceuticals is “developing a drug to treat ‘metabolic syndrome’, which occurs when people suffer obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.” Two compounds, THCV and cannabidiol, found in cannabis are being used in a trial to determine whether they can help improve people’s metabolism which in turn can “lower cholesterol in the bloodstream, plus less fat in key organs, such as the liver.”
