Not all herbs are harmless

Weekend Australian: November 1, 2008

In this article, Prof. Copeland highlights NCPIC’s role in educating the community about issues such as cannabis dependency and withdrawal, and providing “service providers with evidence-based information, resources and training about cannabis-related harms and interventions”. She is also keen to dispel the myth that because cannabis is a herb, it is not dangerous. She says, “Some people still think it’s harmless, just a herb - but tobacco’s a herb... deadly nightshade is a herb. You wouldn’t smoke that.” In addition, the article discusses the currently vacant position of National Clinical Services and Evaluation Manager at NCPIC.
