This workshop provides an overview of a comprehensive intervention which the clinician may deliver over 1-6 sessions. The intervention is supported by two resources - a brief guideline for the clinician and a client booklet. These materials will be demonstrated in the workshop and provided to participants.
This workshop is particularly suitable for workers within alcohol and other drug and mental health services who deal with clients 'face-to-face' and wish to improve or acquire new skills and access an evidence-based resource. Participants need to have a good understanding of motivational enhancement theory, cognitive behavioural theory and sound counselling skills.
The objective of this workshop is to enable participants to implement an evidence-based structured cognitive behavioural Intervention with their own client population.
